    • You will want to watch the above–about 70 minutes–and probably take some notes as you do (the summary table at around 53:44 might be a helpful reference, discussions around 11:51 and 18:50). This is an exercise in critical thinking, so consider how it compares/contrasts with what you have read in Annette Lareau’s Unequal Childhoods.
  • If you don’t see the relevance . . . focus a bit more. You have the book to reference, as well as online lecture material from week 1 (schools, her thesis, a household comparison, some theoretical assumptions).
  • Don’t be naive here, you’re two months into this class and you should have at least an inkling of the complexities involved in understanding social welfare.
