Campus Resources
Eastern Oregon University has a wealth of resources available for students, and capable and caring staff. You would do well to check these out and become familiar with what’s available (listed in no particular order):
- EOU Library There are many things you can do online, you should know the resources of the library inside and out (they have access to much more than you might think, including a welter of databases . . .).
- Office of academic advising If you’re looking to make sure you’ve covered all the requirements for your major or program, need to know who your advisor is, have transfer-related questions, etc.
- Learning center The learning center is a much-used place for under- and upper-division students. You can gain access to math tutors, this is where study sessions are coordinated, there is a computer lab, and the Writing Lab is housed here. If you have a documented learning disability, or think you might, and are entitled to accommodations, you should contact the center.
- Writing Center Housed in the learning center but definitely worth its own link. This course and others are classified as writing intensive courses. The personnel will help you think about and improve your writing. You can schedule half-hour sessions with a tutor. But it is not an editing service.
- Career services You can take Web-based tutorials, the center offers resume reviews, job search resources, graduate school information, etc.
- Information Technology If you have hardware/software questions, would like to know whether you can access the EOU network or your email from home, etc. Also know where the computer labs are.
- Student Health Center Everyone can have adjustment problems. The counseling center is here to help if you need someone to talk to (it is part of the student health center).
- Outdoor program They have rentals for camping, skiing, snowsports, climbing, etc., automatic assault rifle target practice (just kidding!), as well as classes.
- Athletics EOU has gym facilities, tennis courts, track, and some pretty amazing sports teams in football, basketball, women’s volleyball, softball and soccer, track, and cross country (Quinn facilities information)
